The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History offers so much to see and do: walk right up to a life-size 72-foot Blue Whale skeleton; visit exhibit halls about birds, insects, mammals, marine life, paleontology, Native Americans and the Chumash Indians; enjoy the art of the antique natural history prints in the Maximus Gallery; read a book from the children’s collection at the Museum’s Library; hike the Nature Trail along the historic Mission Creek; experience the wonder and excitement of space exploration in the Astronomy Center and Planetarium; and purchase mementos and unique gifts at the Museum Store. A Museum membership provides admission to the Museum and its off-site marine-themed campus, the Ty Warner Sea Center.
Open Daily 10-5; closed all day New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and the first Friday of August for Fiesta. Admission: Museum Members are free; Non-members are $8/adult; $7/teen (13-17); $7/senior (over 64); $5/child (2-12). Free to all on the third Sunday of the month.
