A fun day on the farm! Sweet-delicious fruit, a tractor ride and a petting zoo, what more could a kid ask for?!  The Santa Ynez Valley Farm is an awesome way to spend a weekend afternoon.  The farm, located in Buellton, has super friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious fresh organic produce. You can buy fresh produce at the stand or go pick your own. We opted for picking our own, and it was so much fun!  I think it is important to talk to my kids about where food comes from and I think it’s great when they can actually see and experience it for themselves. Plus, you can’t beat eating ripe fruits and vegetables right out of the garden!

Although my kids enjoy picking their own produce they really LOVE the petting zoo! The petting zoo is clean and full of exciting animals.  My girls could have literally spent hours petting and talking to each one.  The turkey, (aka ‘Turkey Man’) was my favorite.  He is quite possibly the friendliest bird I have ever met, he was happy hanging out with anyone who would let him.  All the animals have a special story and the staff is so great with the animals, and the kids too!
