Live Greek music, folk dancing, food imports, and children's activities
St. Demitrios Church has been hosting this annual festival for 33 years to share its Greek heritage with the community.
Dance to music from The Olympians of Los Angeles and enjoy dance performances by St. Demetrios Dance Groups, including Agape, Omoneia dancers; Thavmatakia; Yia-Yias & Papous dancers. There also will be dance performances and lessons by The Greek at the Harbor Restaurant in Oxnard.
Children's activities include rides, Jolly Jumps, face painting, art projects, a Boy Scout Campsite.
The Greek marketplace will include spices, Kalamata olives, olive oil based lotions and soaps. There will be a variety of imports like Greek jewelry, hats and souvenir T-shirts.
Food will include everything from Gyros, Souvlaki and Lamb Chops to Loukanico and Saganaki as well as a variety of your favorite Greek hors d’oeuvres and pastry, and drinks such a ouzo, Metaxa and Greek wines.
In addition to all this, there will be a raffle booth with chances to win a 7-day/6-night vacation for two to Crete with accomodations in Rethymnon at the Mythos Hotel. Blu-Ray disc player and gift certificates to Urban Home, Napa Grill and Roxy's Deli. Raffle
tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
Tours of the Orthodox chapel will be offered by Father Gary during the festival as well.
Friday: 5-10 p.m. Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
