American Heritage Girls offers faith, service and fun to its growing membership.
Cincinnati Ohio (For Immediate Release) - American Heritage Girls (AHG) reported its membership is up 50 percent from last year, making AHG the fastest growing all-girl scouting organizations in the nation, according to Founder and Executive Director, Patti Garibay.
Badges are just one of the six program emphases a girl, age 5-18, can experience while in AHG, the faith-based, character development organization.
The AHG program features Life Skills Enhancement, Developing Teamwork & Building Confidence through a strong outdoor program, Social Development, Girl Leadership, Character Development through its turnkey community service offerings, and Spiritual Development.
The AHG Program offers advancement which teaches girls goal setting techniques and strategies to accomplish those goals. AHG teaches leadership and through achieving advancement ranks, girls strive to achieve AHG’s highest honor, the Stars and Stripes Award.
The Stars and Stripes is accomplished by earning 16 badges, religious awards, a 100 hour service project, essays, resumes and a board of review process.
The Stars and Stripes is equivalent to the Eagle Scout Award earned by Boy Scouts of America (BSA). In 2009, AHG was presented a Memorandum of Mutual Support by the BSA. This Memorandum is historic in nature as it is the first presented to an all-girls’ organization in the one hundred year history of the BSA.
Founded in 1995 in Cincinnati, Ohio, AHG has grown from ten Troops and 100 members to more than 14,000 members spanning 42 states and four countries. The Trailblazer Program operates in several European countries and Japan and in areas without AHG Troops.
AHG is impacting the nation with an emphasis on service with more than 108,000 hours in community service last year alone.
Garibay has been heard on numerous national and local TV, radio and media productions bringing awareness to AHG.
Many organizations stand with AHG in its mission to raise women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. Relationships include Operation Christmas Child, Compassion International and Big Idea/Veggie Tales.
